By Willie Clay Staff Writer The Greyhound Girls Volleyball team had a good season this year, as they finished with 8 wins and 5 losses. During pre-season, the Lady Greyhounds went through some tough training. Before every practice, they had to run and shuffle around the gym floor. One half of the team had to do push-ups while the other half did squats and sit-ups. The training brought the girls together as a team. Cheering each other on through drills really improved their sportsmanship between the team. Although the team advanced to the playoffs at Walter Payton High School, they had a heartbreaking loss in the first round to the Lady Grizzlies of Payton High School. Hubbard’s volleyball captain Guadalupe Santoyo, Div. 405, stated, “This season was more challenging, but we did better than last year. It’s been a pleasure to play with my teammates for the last time.” Coach Webster commented, “The girls had a good year. It was a few miscues to our game, but overall, we did well.” The Lady Greyhounds had a good year with Greyhound pride; they will do even better next season.
