Staff Writer Belly Dance is a club here at Hubbard High School which is an all-girls club dancing to the different cultural music. This year it had a little twist; it went from anyone being able to join to having tryouts for all incoming members. After establishing their group these girls got to work. Their performance this year will be held at the end of the year. The members from previous years help the new girls the best way they can with whatever they might need. The unique thing about these ladies is that they all treat each other with respect and all collaborate or offer their help. This year’s showcase is mostly dedicated to the graduating seniors. Many of the senior girls have been part of Belly Dance since their freshmen year. Clara Padilla, who has been in Belly Dance for three years says, “Belly Dance has helped me in so many ways, I was extremely shy and I had stage fright but it helped me step out of my comfort zone.” Clara also added that it took a lot of dedication and effort because from her experience she wasn’t a good dancer but at the end she accomplished it. Belly Dance truly brings people together and helps with different scenarios that only help these ladies for the better.
